FY 2024 Medicare IPPS and LTCH PPS Final Update Issued
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have issued a final rule to update the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and the Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) Prospective Payment System for fiscal year (FY) 2024.
The rule will: revise the Medicare hospital inpatient prospective payment systems (IPPS) for operating and capital-related costs; make changes relating to Medicare graduate medical education (GME) for teaching hospitals; update the payment policies and the annual payment rates for the Medicare prospective payment system (PPS) for inpatient hospital services provided by long-term care hospitals (LTCHs); and make other policy-related changes.

CMS Releases Four Rules – IPPS, Psychiatric, Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Containing Corrections to the FY 2024 PPS Programs
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) have issued 4 rules with corrections to the final FY 2024 prospective payment system (PPS) programs. These include Inpatient, Inpatient Psychiatric, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing. The rules are effective October 1, 2023, the start of Federal Fiscal year 2024.
The rules are scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on October 4. Copies of the display versions are available as follows;
